(Haverhill, Mass.)- Fisher College went 3-0 to capture the Sunrise Conference baseball championship at Haverhill Stadium in Haverhill, Mass.
The Falcons beat the College of St. Joseph 26-1, SUNY Canton 11-0 and Vermont Technical College 18-1 to win the double-elimination tournament.
On the first day of the tournament SUNY Canton beat Vermont Tech 11-3. Dominic Creazzo went 3-for-5 with two RBIs, a double and run to lead the Roos. Anthony Brauchle struck out six batters in seven innings for SUNY Canton. Jordan Hodge was 2-for-3 with a double and a run for the Green Knights.
In the second game Matt Shaver went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and four RBIs to lead Fisher. Jose Reyes also ripped a double and drove in four runs. Zack Thompson struck out 12 batters in six inning on the mound. Tyler Eaton went 1-for-2 with an RBI for St. Joseph.
Vermont Tech eliminated St. Joseph from the tournament that night with a 19-9 win.
In the first game of the second day Evan Tardugno fanned 13 batters leading Fisher to the win over SUNY Canton. Anthony Perry blasted a home run and scored three times for the Falcons. Jose Diaz went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs. Pete Collins laced a pair of singles to lead the Roos.
In the second game of day two Vermont Tech eliminated SUNY Canton with a 7-5 win. Blake Wright pitched the Green Knights into the championship game striking out five batters and scattering six hits over nine innings. He also had two singles and two runs. Joseph Clough was 4-for-5 for Vermont Tech with two doubles and run. Brandon Mahler ripped a pair of inside the park home runs for the Roos. Jacques Demars had a triple and Jeff LaDuca allowed six hits with five strikeouts in eight innings.
In the championship game Perry went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs to lead the Falcons. Tardugno was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs.
