(Lynn, Mass.)- Top-seeded Fisher College won their fifth straight Sunrise Conference baseball championship shutting out No. 2 University of Maine at Presque Isle 18-0 Sunday at Fraser Field in Lynn., Mass. The Falcons improved to 26-17 and advance to an NAIA qualifying tournament against the winner of the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference May 5, 6 and 7 at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pa.
Fisher scored six runs in both the first and fifth innings in the convincing win.
Patrick Shanahan dominated the Owls on Sunday as he struck out 10 batters with no walks in six innings. Kevin Ryan had one strikeout in one inning. Eddie Guerrero had one strikeout and gave up two hits in two innings and Austin Brodie had two strikeouts in one inning.
Ryan also went 3-for-6 with two doubles and two RBIs for the Falcons. Zack Thompson went 3-for-4 with a double and Edwin Pena and Juan Eusebio each chipped in with two RBIs.
