(Scarborough, Maine)- The No. 3 SUNY Canton women's soccer team provided the only upset in the first round of the Sunrise Conference soccer championship as the Roos blanked No. 2 University of Maine at Presque Isle 3-0 in Scarborough, Maine.  SUNY Canton will face top-seed University of Maine at Fort Kent in the championship game on Saturday.

The Roos were actually out shot by the Owls 11-8 but a strong defensive effort by goalie Aubrey Parrish and her defenders kept the Owls off the board.  Parrish finished with four saves, two in each half.

SUNY Canton scored once in the first 45 minutes.  Angie Waryasz beat a defender down the left wing and snapped a shot past Owls goalie Taylor Ussery in the 27th minute.

Kirsten Morley and Cristina Butler then took over the scoring in the second half. Morley scored her first of two goals from Butler in the 55th minute.  Then in the 68th minute Butler slid a nice pass through two defenders to Morley who used her left foot to beat Ussery in the lower right corner for the Roos final goal.
Ussery finished with four saves for the Owls who end their season at 10-6.
