2009 Men's Soccer All-Conference Team

(Portland, Maine)-The Sunrise Conference has announced their men's soccer individual award winners and all-conference team.  The awards were handed out at an awards breakfast prior to the start of the conference tournament at Governors Restaurant in Portland, Maine.

Sophomore forward Andre Anderson and junior defender Barrington Blake of the University of Maine at Fort Kent were named the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year.

Anderson was second in the conference in scoring with 34 points.  He netted 15 goals with four assists and had 69 total shots.  Blake guided a defense that allowed less than one goal per game and shut out opponents eight times.

Anderson was joined on the all-conference team at forward by teammate Jermaine West, Devon Peaslee of the University of Maine at Presque Isle, and Greg Dawson of the University of Maine at Machias.  West had 13 goals and five assists for 31 points.  Dawson recorded 26 points on 11 goals and four assists and Peaslee notched 24 points on 10 goal and four assists.

Emlyn Jacoby, Keith Williams II, and Luka Odak of Fort Kent and Repton Abrahams of SUNY Canton were named all-conference at midfield.  Williams led the conference in scoring with 35 points on 14 goals and seven assists.  He was also second in shots with 70.  Odak had a conference-leading 15 assists and four goals for 23 points.  Jacoby registered four goals and 12 assists for 20 points and Abrahams had two goal and six assists for 10 points.

Blake, Damion Stone, and Spencer Jacoby of Fort Kent and Pat Corliss of Machias were named all-conference defenders.

Giovanni Sinclair of Fort Kent and Eamon Case of SUNY Canton were named all-conference goalies.  Sinclair recorded a .032 goals-against average and a .857 save percentage with eight shutouts.  Case had a 2.2 goals-against average and a .725 save percentage with two shutouts.

Bill Ashby of Fort Kent was named Coach of the Year and the College of St. Joseph received the Team Sportsmanship Award.
