(Vancouver, Wash.)- Six runners from the Sunrise Conference ran in the NAIA National Championships on Saturday, November 20 in Vancouver, Wash.  The meets were held at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site.

In the women's meet Jessie Gardner of Paul Smith's College finished in 291st place out of 330 runners as she recorded a time of 22:09 in the 5K race.


Ashley Rokjer of Paul Smith's finished 316th in a time of 23:10 and Shelly Hanson of the University of Maine at Presque Isle finished a second behind at 23:11.


In the men's meet Justin Richardson of SUNY Canton finished 299th out of 323 runners completing the 8K race in a time of 29:25.


Kyle Dash of Paul Smith's College finished a second behind Richardson in a time of 29:26 and Justin Fereshetian came in 303rd place in a time of 29:45.


All six runners qualified for the national meet by finishing in the top three of the Sunrise Conference Championship on Nov. 7.  Gardner and Fereshetian were named the Female and Male Runner of the Year respetively.  Rokjer and Richardson were named Rookie of the Year and all six made the all-conference team.


Cal State San Marcos won the women's championship and Malone College won the men's championship.
