The UMFK men's soccer team teamed up with Mrs Pat Richards' second grade class from Fort Kent Elementary School this past fall to do a math project.

Mrs Richards' students did math lessons with a reward of UMFK Soccer Trading Cards for successful completion of each lesson.  The cards feature individual players, Head Coach Bill Ashby, and a team photo card with a picture on front and significant stats on the back.  On Monday afternoon, members of the UMFK men's soccer team paid a visit to the classroom as both themselves and the students were honored.

According to both Mrs Richard's and Coach Ashby, the project was a huge success for the young and old involved.  The second grade students showed remarkable achievement in a small window of time and the UMFK players were humbled by the special fans they now have.  The class escorted UMFK players onto the field in a fall home contest and were regulars for the top 5 nationally ranked local collegiate team.
