Abbey Shoen (Waddington, N.Y.) of SUNY Canton has been named the Sunrise Conference Rookie of the Week in women's basketball.

Abbey is honored for the first time this season after averaging 9.5 points, 4.0 steals, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in two conference wins for the Roos. 

The freshman guard from Waddington, N.Y. had 11 points, five rebounds, four steals and two assists in a 69-49 win over the College of St. Joseph. 

She also had eight points on 6 of 6 shooting from the free throw line, four steals, three assists and two rebounds in a 57-48 win over Fisher College.
