(Concord, N.H.)- The Sunrise Conference announced is 2009-10 postseason honors for men's basketball at a banquet at New Hampshire Technical Institute prior to the conference tournament.  The awards are voted on and selected by the conference's eight coaches.

Junior guard Louis Williams of Fisher College was named the Player of the Year.  Williams was the sixth leading scorer in the conference averaging 18.3 points.  He was also third in assists (4.5), fourth in total 3-pointers made (65), sixth in steals (1.7) and seventh in free throw percentage (.735).

Freshman guard Steven Edwards of Paul Smith's College was named Rookie of the Year.  Edwards was the only freshman ranked in the top 10 in scoring as he dropped in a conference-leading 24.5 points per game.  He was also third in total 3-pointers made (70) and steals (2.7), fifth in free throw shooting (.761), seventh in assists (3.3) and 13th in rebounding (6.5).

Brac Brady of the University of Maine at Machias was named Coach of the Year for the second straight year.  Brady led the Clippers to a 15-13 record during the regular season and the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament.

Paul Smith's College received the Team Sportsmanship Award.

Joining Williams on the all-conference First Team is teammate, junior Casey Pursell, junior Ray Mitchell of the University of Maine at Presque Isle, junior Clifford McDonald of the University of Maine at Machias, and senior Jimmy Lopez of the University of Maine at Fort Kent.

Pursell was 10th in scoring (16.6), second in three-point percentage (.413) and total threes (50), fifth in steals (2.2) and sixth in assists (3.4).  Mitchell was eighth in scoring (17.4), second in field goal percentage (.542), fourth in double-doubles (11), and 12th in rebounding (6.6).  McDonald led the conference in rebounding (9.6) and field goal percentage (.577) and was seventh in scoring (18.0).  Lopez was third in three-point percentage (.410), fifth in total threes made (64), 11th in scoring (16.1), seventh in field goal percentage (.472), and tied for second in threes made per game (3.0).

Named to the all-conference Second Team was Edwards, Kevin Carr of Vermont Technical College, Brad Drysdale and Doug Childs of the College of St. Joseph, and Manny Odugbela of Fort Kent.

Carr led the conference in total threes made with 82 and threes made per game at 3.7.  He was also second in scoring (21.3), and fourth in free throw shooting (.787), assists (4.2), and steals (2.6).  Drysdale led the conference in blocks (1.5) and double-doubles (12), and was fifth in scoring (18.5), third in rebounding (8.8), and fourth in field goal percentage (.487).  Childs shot a conference-leading 84 percent from the free throw line and he was also second in three made (71), fourth in scoring (20.5), and sixth in three-point percentage (.384).  Odugbela was 15th in scoring (13.3) and 13th in assists (2.8).
