(Concord, N.H.)- The Sunrise Conference announced is 2009-10 postseason honors for women's basketball at a banquet at New Hampshire Technical Institute prior to the conference tournament.  The awards are voted on and selected by the conference's seven coaches.

Shannon LaFave of SUNY Canton was named Player of the Year.  The junior forward was fourth in the conference in scoring (15.0), second in field goal percentage (.473), fifth in free throw percentage (.677), eighth in rebounding (6.6) and tied for third in double-doubles with three.

Sabree Rodriguez of the University of Maine at Machias was named Rookie of the Year.  The freshman forward led the conference in scoring (18.0), free throw percentage (.735) and double-doubles (10) and was third in both field goal percentage (.440) and rebounding (9.0).

Lucas Levesque of the University of Maine at Fort Kent was named Coach of the Year.  Levesque led the Bengals to the regular season championship, a 16-8 regular season record and the top seed in the conference tournament for the second straight year. 

The Team Sportsmanship Awards went to the College of St. Joseph.

Joining LaFave and Rodriguez on the all-conference First Team were a trio of Fort Kent players, senior Kristen Violette, senior Talisha Herring and junior Amber Garrison. 
 
Violette led the conference in field goal percentage (.505) and was third in scoring (16.9), fourth in free throw shooting (.701), fourth in double-doubles (4) and 10th in rebounding (6.4).  Herring was second with 37 total 3-pointers made, third in assists (3.8), tied for seventh with three double-doubles and ninth in scoring (11.6).  Garrison was second in steals (3.0) and third in assists (3.8).

Named to the all-conference Second Team was junior Megan Korhonen of the University of Maine at Presque Isle, junior Kaeisha Parks of Machias, juniors Leslie Wadhams and Tiffany Beckman of Fisher College and freshman Brittney Garrow of the College of St. Joseph.

Korhonen was seventh in the conference in scoring (11.8), second in free throw shooting (.712), fourth in steals (2.5) and seventh in assists (2.6).  Parks averaged 14.1 points and 5.5 assists per game.  Wadhams  was fifth in rebounding (7.3), 11th in scoring (10.3) and sixth in free throw percentage (.664).  Beckman was third in steals (2.3), fourth in total threes made (32) and sixth in scoring (14.0).  Garrow was second in scoring (17.6), rebounding (9.2) and double-doubles (8) and was third in free throw percentage (.708) and total threes (34).
