(Weston, Mass.)- No. 2 Fisher College edged No. 3 University of Maine at Presque Isle 3-2 in the opening round of the Sunrise Conference softball tournament at Regis College in Weston, Mass.
The Falcons will face No. 1 SUNY Canton in the second round and Presque Isle will face No. 4 Vermont Technical College.
Fisher scored the game-winning run in the sixth inning when Debbie Fuller grounded out to first that scored Jamie Hallam from third.
Hallam finished with two RBIs and Brittany Calderon and Michelle Oliverio each went 1-for-3.
Mika Wilson struck out six batters in seven innings and allowed just two hits and two walks.
Lainey Herring had a triple and an RBI to lead the Owls. Cassie Green also singled and Nicole Russell allowed five hits and one walks with one strikeout in six innings.
