(Weston, Mass.)- No. 3 University of Maine at Presque Isle blanked No. 4 Vermont Technical College 10-0 in the second round of the Sunrise Conference softball tournament at Regis College in Weston, Mass.
The Owls will face the loser of No. 1 SUNY Canton vs. No. 2 Fisher College for a berth in the championship game on Sunday.
Lainey Herring was 3-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs to lead Presque Isle. Desiree Smith was 3-for-4 with two runs and Brittany Humphrey added a double.
Nicole Russell allowed three hits and had one strikeout on the mound.
Heather Mugford had two singles for the Green Knights.
