(Weston, Mass.)- Top-seeded SUNY Canton  captured the Sunrise Conference softball championship beating the University of Maine at Presque Isle 11-1 in five innings on Sunday at Regis College in Weston, Mass.

The Roos will now advance to play the winner of the Gulf Coast Conference in an NAIA national tournament qualifier next weekend in Charleston, West Virginia.

Heather Lottie and Colleen Rivers each smacked home runs to lead the Roos on Sunday.  Lottie finished 1-for-3 and Rivers was 1-for-2 with a walk.

Tina DeLuca tossed another outstanding game for SUNY Canton as the freshman gave up just three hits and one walk and struck out three in five innings. 

Jenifer Shaw went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.  Shelby McGraw was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run. 

Lainey Herring and Nicole Russell each singled for Presque Isle.  Russell took the loss on the mound as she allowed 12 hits and four walks in four innings.
