(Canton, N.Y.) - Paul Smith's College captured the Sunrise Conference men's cross country championship.
The meet was held at SUNY Canton. The Bobcats recorded 40 points to take first place. SUNY Canton came in second with 50 points, the University of Maine at Presque Isle was third with 55 points and Vermont Technical College was fourth with 68 points.
Dean Rinehart (below) captured the overall men's title beating teammate Philip Dybfest-Muha by seven seconds. Rinehart finished the 8K race in a time of 29:28 and Dybfest-Muha finished in 29:35.
SUNY Canton took the next three spots. Byron Danis was third in a time of 30:14, Justin Forth was fourth (30:18) and Ben Villani was fifth (30:50). Stefan Bibb of Paul Smith's College was sixth (31:05) and Emerson Wright of the University of Maine at Presque Isle was seventh in a time of 31:12.
Rinehart was named the Male Runner of the Year. Villani was the Rookie of the Year. The two were joined on the all-conference team by Dybfest-Muha, Danis, Forth, Bibb, and Wright. Dominic Martin of Paul Smith's College was named the Men's Coach of the Year.
