Junior guard Louis Williams of Fisher College has been named a Division II Men's Basketball Honorable Mention All-American by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
Junior forward Shannon LaFave of SUNY Canton has been named a Division II Women's Basketball Honorable Mention All-American by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
The Sunrise Conference has announced it's 2009-10 Scholar Athletes. A student-athlete must have accumulated a minimum of 32 credits and have an overall grade-point average of 3.5 or higher to receive this honor. One student-athelte from each sport is also named an Outstanding Scholar Athlete for earning the highest grade-point average in that sport.
(Sioux City, Iowa)- The University of Maine at Fort Kent women's basketball team couldn't overcome a big obstacle on Wednesday as they lost to top-seeded and top-ranked Hastings College (Neb.) 99-51 in the opening round of the NAIA Division II National Championship in Sioux City, Iowa.
(Point Lookout, Mo.)- The University of Maine at Fort Kent men's basketball team lost in the opening round of the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Championship as they lost to top-seeded Walsh University (Ohio) 97-69 Wednesday in Point Lookout, Mo.
